Hi, I would like to talk today about search engine optimisation and why it is now vital to use in your business online. How SEO works
First let me start by explaining SEO to you. I like to use a comment I saw on a website which summed it up very well. if you wish to check out the page it is What is SEO.
The blog explains it like this. If you have a bricks and mortar shop and it is just for this explanation a coffee shop and you sell without a doubt the best coffee in town. But you are in a back street away from the high street. This puts you not in a great position to make good money? But let’s suppose we could come along and lift the shop up and place it smack bang in the high street for you. well now your sales would go through the roof and everyone would be better off.
This is exactly what search engine optimisation does for your online business. If you are on page ten of Google and with a few months work you are on page one then obviously your sales are gong to rocket for sure. What search engines
I really can not recommend highly enough the importance of this service to your company the guys I use are the ones in the first link I gave you. that’s how I found that page with the very simple explanation. ill give you the link to their homepage
So if you are currently working online you do want to find a company of your choice to get this service going.I’m not suggesting to use the same company as I do it is just for explanation terms to you.
What I would say is do not go for a cheap company this will surely backfire. I have found over time cheap does not work and you get what you pay for. I’m not saying go and hire some rich hot shot to do the work but don’t go for the rock bottom guy either it will for sure not be a good experience as I have unfortunately over time found out the hard way. I thnk use a company that is local to you ios the best way to go about things as they will know the area and the market better than a guy the other side of the world.
I hope this is helpful to you in seeing why SEO services are now vital to an online presence. The world online is moving fast and I have noticed probably because I’m looking that alot of times I go to search for something and it has moved off the usual page and that gets me thinking they need to hire a guy and fast
It is wonderful now the big companies have gained tremendous trust online that now everyone shops without a problem. It would be interesting to know how many multi-millionaires have been made since the .com revolution.
I will mainly focus on the Dutch flower industry as this is the largest floral platform in the world for wholesale flower selling. Floral_industry.
Have a look at the figures they are huge. From Holland, they depart to all parts of Europe including Eastern Europe. The whole set up and the process looks so complicated here is a video to explain.
This is simply the most amazing market I have ever seen. I do feel it would be worth the trip over to see for yourself. I for one would love to spend a good morning there. The actual buying of the flowers looks extremely complicated. The Aalsmeer market fascinates me and i suppose in life like everything if you know the system they use then it is no problem but for an outsider it looks hugely complicated. You can actually take a tour of the market here is the link for the information. visit.
The flowers come over to us here in the U.K on a daily basis from the market at Aalsmeer they leave on a Monday morning and arrive in the u.k in the evening. The big lorry then starts immediately delivering to all the shops through the evening and night. They are given the orders required by there customers and they have the keys to the shops and they simply drive and drop the flowers to there destinations. I believe the lorry has two guys working on a three day two nights shift. Also, they work extremely hard and work up to a 14 hour day to get the work done. On the following day, they carry on doing the rounds delivering to the shops. I would imagine it is a lot easier delivering at night as the lorry is such a big vehicle to drive around the towns of the U.K and especially in London itself. I know for a fact that if the lorry has to deliver inside London to Knightsbridge flowers which is in the same road as Harrods London and it works out to be a bad time of day then they can find it extremely difficult to park and drop off the delivery to those guys there. I am sure there are many other headaches to occur in the job they have to get done. Also, throw into the mix that they have to sleep for two nights inside of the lorry. Imagine doing that weekly and even more startling imagine sleeping inside in the middle of the winter.
It also makes me think what they do if they do not sell all the produce they bring over to the U.K. I’m sure they have a pretty good idea of there clients needs and how much they are going to buy but they surely must bring more over than just the bare essentials. I’m sure that if you was a shop owner and it was the last few deliveries before heading home you could possibly pick up some great bargains. But they are not allowed to sell to the general public.
I found a very useful website Knightsbridge flowers that has a great page on tips on buying flowers for the general public. It explains also how to treat and care for the flowers to get the most out of them. If you are buying for yourself, we think seven days is the length of time flowers should last you at home. here is a lovely floral display I’ve added for you.
Roses mixed in all shades
The flower industry in a whole I feel is always going to be in a good shape. The one concern apparently here in the England is the uncertainty of New Covent Garden market based in Battersea, London. http://www.newcoventgardenmarket.com/ The area is always changing and just next door to the market as I write this they are building the new American embassy. Also, there are huge developments of new build property popping up daily. It really is changing the whole face of the south side of the river. We often wonder how all the property there gets sold as there are so many being built. Possibly one day the bubble will burst? Getting back to new covent garden market. A stye whole areas is dramatically changing before our eyes I do believe it will not be long for the market to disappear from this site as the site it sits on us absolutely huge. It has the fruit market as its neighbour and maybe they will all have to share the sam area. This I am imaging could turning it into a comedy show as I can not imagine the men and woman will like the idea of a change where they are a crowded into a single space. The world is changing so fast and the last remnant’s of a time passed by may be drawing to an end. You only have to look at the original Covent Garden market to see this happening. It was a must that I added you in this great documentary of an era long gone.
I really hope this article on the Floral industry was helpful and entertaining to you. It is really close to my heart not only how certain sectors of industry work but how they are changing all the time trying to keep a pace with our fast moving ever-changing landscapes in all cities across our beautiful England and also the whole face of Europe. The progress of course must never stop and some industries disappear and others just merely change and move with the times and flourish. Such is life
